Quanta Storage quits production of slim-type ODDs, steps into SSDs

Quanta Storage stopped production of slim-type optical disc drives (ODDs) for notebooks at the end of 2015 and cleaned its inventory in the first quarter of 2016. The company stepped into OEM/ODM production of SSDs and began to offer enterprise server-use SSDs under own-brand Techman in the second quarter of 2016, according to the company.
