While Samsung Electronics took the initiative to launch super Ultra HD LCD TVs based on cadmium (Cd)-free quantum dot technology in March 2015, China- and Taiwan-based panel makers have now also adopted the technology, according to COO Keith Wiggins for UK-based heavy metal-free nanomaterial maker Nanoco Technologies.
