China-based Trina Solar has announced that its in-house-developed N-type IBC (interdigitated back contact 6-inch monocrystalline silicon solar cell has been tested by Japan-based third-party certification organization Japan Electrical Safety & Environment Technology Laboratories (JET) to have an energy conversion rate of 23.5%, a world record for 6-inch solar cells of the same kind.
