GeoSat Aerospace & Technology, a provider of satellite-based navigation, location, remote sensing and GIS (geographic information system) services, has used drones equipped with near infrared sensing instruments to inspect PV modules of rooftop PV systems or ground-mounted PV power-generating stations to detect abnormal hot spots or other defects for maintenance, according to the company.
