Taiwan-based high-efficiency PERC (passivated emitter and rear cell) monocrystalline silicon solar cell makers have seen orders increase in the fourth quarter, but face short supply of solar-grade monocrystalline silicon wafers, because AUO Crystal is the only Taiwan-based wafer maker and more than 80% of supply has to rely on China-based makers, according to industry sources.
