China telecom carriers set aggressive 4G smartphone sales goals, says report

China Telecom and China United Network Communications (China Unicom) have been setting up LTE FDD/TD-LTE 4G networks in China, and have set aside budgets of CNY16 billion (US$2.58 billion) and CNY6 billion respectively to subsidize contract-bundled purchases of 4G smartphones in 2015, according to China-based Beijing Morning Post.
