Calxeda SOCs may be back on the market next year.

Calxeda, which raised $100 million to make ARM-based server chips before going bankrupt earlier this year, may see its IP in server SOCs in 2015. Calxeda’s assets have been acquired by a company called Silver Lining Systems which is a subsidiary of AtGames Cloud Holdings. It is reported that SLS will work with Foxconn to bring out new server chips in 2015. ARM is also described by SLS as a partner. ARM was an investor in Calxeda. Last year was the first year that servers shipped with ARM-based ICs in them.
