Nichia accuses HTC Japan-based subsidiary of infringing on white LED patents

Japan-based Nichia on October 18 filed a charge with the Tokyo District Court against HTC Nippon, Taiwan-based smartphone vendor HTC's Japan-based subsidiary, and Kanematsu Communications, HTC Nippon's distributor, because the white LEDs in the HTC smartphone Desire 626 that the two companies sell in the Japan market infringes on Nichia's white LED patents JP5177317 and JP5610056, according to Nichia.
