Among LCD TV vendors, Sony took the initiative to launch Ultra HD models and consequently shipped nearly 13 million Bravia series LCD TVs in 2015 and is expected to see significant on-year growth in 2016 shipments although global shipments are likely to remain unchanged on year at 220 million units, according to industry sources.
