Revenues from energy efficient buildings in Europe expected to reach US$109 billion annually by 2023, says firm

Stringent regulations that apply across the European Union (EU) have contributed to the development of a growing market for energy efficient buildings in Europe. At the same time, mandatory changes to country-level building codes are increasing the performance requirements that apply to new construction and major renovations of existing buildings, with the goal of delivering nearly zero energy buildings by 2019 and 2021 for public and private buildings, respectively. According to a recent report from Navigant Research, continent-wide revenues from energy efficient buildings in Europe, including products and services, are expected to grow from EUR41.4 billion (US$56 billion) annually in 2014 to EUR80.8 billion (US$109 billion) in 2023.
