Fraunhofer damps vibrations

Diesel engines vibrate. This produces stress on the components of ships. Adaptronic systems effectively reduce these vibrations. Fraunhofer researchers have developed a simulation tool that allows these systems to be developed efficiently called The “Mechanical Simulation Toolbox“. “The vibrations are not only disturbing; they also damage important components of the ship,” says Fraunhofer’s Heiko Atzrodt. ...
