AU Optronics (AUO) and 3M have announced a new technology alliance that combines AUO ALCD (advanced LCD) technology, 3M's quantum dot (QD) enhancement film made with quantum dots produced by California-based Nanosys with AUO's backlight components for wide color gamut (WCG) and high dynamic range (HDR) for Ultra HD (4K) TV panels up to 85-inch.
