Taiwan-based chipmakers including foundries Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) and United Microelectronics (UMC), memory maker Inotera Memories, and IC packaging house Advanced Semiconductor Engineering (ASE) have said that measures will be taken to make sure their production lines will not be affected by mandatory water restrictions that are to be imposed soon by the government.
