The SEMI book-to-bill continued its steady decline since June with a 0.93 ratio for October.
October bookings were $1.10bn – 7% lower than September’s $1.19bn, and 1.9% lower than October 2013 bookings of $1.12bn.
October billings were $1.18bn – 5.8% lower than September billings of $1.26bn, 10.6% higher than October 2013 billings of $1.07bn.
“While the global semiconductor equipment industry will see strong double-digit growth this year and is slated for further growth in 2015, order activity posted by North American suppliers has moderated, resulting in a book-to-bill ratio below parity for two consecutive months,” said SEMI president and CEO Denny McGuirk.
The last six months have seen b-to-bs of: May 1.1, June 1.0, July 1.07, August 1.04, September 0.94 and October 0.93
