Commentary: Android smartphone vendors set to meet more challenges

Sluggish demand for Android-based smartphones is taking its toll on vendors including Samsung Electronics, HTC and Sony Mobile Communications as evidenced by third-quarter reports released by related vendors. And the fourth-quarter figures for Android smartphone vendors are expected to be worse than the previous quarter given strong sales of iPhone 6 devices.
