Chinese mobile giant Huawei has launched a smart watch on the eve of Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.
The company has fittest bands – called the B1 – but this launch today is its first full spec smart watch.
Huawei has also increased the specification of its Talkband fittness band range with the B2, which has a new display and improved performance.
But it is the smart watch which has grabbed the imagination of Barcelona on the eve of the exhibition.
Wearables are likely to be a big focus at this year’s Mobile World Congress. Along with today’s Huawei launch, LG has also launched two new smart watches.
LG has added 4G LTE connectivity to one of its new smart watches.
The Huawei Watch is physically smaller than other smart watches such as the LG R and Moto 360.
Although its round display is smaller than these other watches, it has a higher pixel density of 286ppi, compared to 205ppi for the Moto 360.
Huawei’s Android smart watch has the usual set of motion sensors you find in smart wearables and also a heart rate monitor.
It runs Android Wear on a Qualcomm 1.2GHz ARM-based Snapdragon processor with 512Mbyte RAM.
It has 1.4-inch AMOLED touchscreen and 4Gbyte of storage.
It also has a Bluetooth Low Energy interface.
