Spending on energy efficient buildings in Europe expected to total nearly US$800 billion from 2014-2023, says Navigant

Buildings account for 40% of Europe's final energy consumption, and thus represent a key focus in efforts to improve overall energy efficiency. Two key pieces of European Union (EU) legislation, the Energy Performance of Buildings Directive (EPBD) and the Energy Efficiency Directive (EED), strongly influence the market for energy efficient buildings and create a solid basis for growth in the segment over the next 10 years. According to a new report from Navigant Research, cumulative spending on energy efficient buildings in Europe, including products and services, is forecast to total US$791.7 billion from 2014-2023.
