Epistar, Genesis may benefit from Cree investment in Lextar, says Epistar

Cree will invest in LED epitaxial wafer and chip maker Lextar Electronics to secure a steady supply of blue-light mid-power LED chips on a long-term basis, which is likely to drive other LED vendors including Osram and Philips Lumileds Lighting to shift orders from Lextar to fellow makers Epistar and Genesis Photonics, according to Epistar.
