Certified mobile workstations continue to grow moderately in 2Q15; desktop workstations have disappointing quarter, says IDC

According to the IDC Worldwide Quarterly Workstation Tracker, certified mobile workstations continued to show stronger growth in the second quarter of 2015, while the desktop workstation market experienced a slight decline. Total shipments of mobile workstations improved 5.4% on year to 288,270 units in the second quarter. Worldwide desktop workstation shipments declined 3.7% on year with total shipments of 641,580 units. Overall worldwide shipments improved slightly with an on-year decline of 1% compared to an on-year decline of 1.6% in the first quarter of 2015.
