The SEMI book-to-bill hit 1:10 in March up from February’s 1:03 and January’s 1:04.
“Three-month average bookings reported by North American-based semiconductor manufacturing equipment providers reflected sequential and year-over-year momentum in the first quarter of 2015,” said SEMI CEO Denny McGuirk.
“This marks the third consecutive month that bookings exceeded billing and the ratio remained above parity.”
March bookings were $1.37 billion – 4.6% higher than February’s $1.31 billion, and 5.9% higher than the March 2014 order level of $1.30 billion.
March billings were $1.25 billion – 2.4% lower than the February’s $1.28 billion, and 1.9% higher than the March 2014 billings level of $1.23 billion.
The data contained in the SEMI release were compiled by David Powell, an independent financial services firm, without audit, from data submitted directly by the participants.
The SEMI Book-to-Bill report is one of three reports included with the SEMI Equipment Market Data Subscription (EMDS).
