Taiwan's Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA) on August 6 started trails of a 4G+ (4G, 4.5G, 5G) experimental network for Taiwan-based makers to test interoperability between their smartphones, smartphone-use IC solutions, mobile terminal devices, Small Cell and Wi-Fi devices, as well as to enable mobile telecom carriers to test new services such as VoLTE (voice over LTE) to shorten time to market, according to MOEA.
