China May mobile phone user base grows to 1.256 billion, says MIIT

There were 1.256 billion subscribers of mobile communication services in China as of the end of May 2014, growing 0.36% on month and 7.82% on year. 464.07 million (36.94%) were 3G users and 857.37 million (68.24%) were mobile Internet-access users, according to statistics published by China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT).
