Fujifilm to buy Hitachi’s diagnostic imaging business for $1.55bn

Fujifilm is to buy Hitachi’s medical diagnostic imaging business for $1.55 billion. The idea is to gain the scale to take on Philips, GE and Siemens. Last year Fujifilm had 5.5% of the $42 billion diagnostic imaging equipment business. Hitachi had 2.9%. Siemens leads the market with a 23.1% share, followed by GE on 21.8% ...
