Commentary: MediaTek-MStar expansion to pose threat to other IC vendors

While the planned acquisition of ILI Technology (Ilitek) by MStar Semiconductor is being regarded as a consolidation process needed for Taiwan's IC design industry, the implementation of the merger of the two companies could pose threat to other IC suppliers including Novatek Microelectronics, Himax Technologies and Realtek Semiconductor.
