Monocrystalline solar cells face increasing competition from PERC polycrystalline models

While global demand for crystalline silicon solar cells and PV modules has being rising, demand for monocrystalline solar cells and PV modules has appeared to be weak mainly due to increasing competition from PERC (passivated emitter and rear cell) polycrystalline models. Both are comparable in energy conversion rates versus price, according to Taiwan-based solar cell makers.
