Freescale Semiconductor’s latest tyre-pressure monitoring system is a wireless device which integrates a dual-axis accelerometer, motion sensor, RF transmitter, low frequency receiver, pressure and temperature sensor and a microcontroller in a 7 x 7mm package.
The microcontroller can be used for analysis sensor data, including pressure, temperature and acceleration.
The pressure accuracy of FXTH8715 devices is specified at +/-17kPa, and the operating range is 100-1500kPa.
The FXTH8715 system’s integrated MCU and dedicated firmware support up to 8kbyte of flash memory, which can be used for encryption for a secure design.
