PCIM: Intepro adds drag-and-drop set-up to PowerStar

Intepro PowerStar 6Intepro Systems has added drag-and-drop programming to its PowerStar power supply test software, and has extended operation to 64bit Windows.

Included in PowerStar 6, and based on an expanded test library, instrument set-up and device under test (DUT) output test parameters can be defined through drag and drop menus. Test screen data is entered as numbers or variables.

“Defining inputs and output separates the test hardware from the test code making PowerStar 6 hardware independent, allowing customers to execute the same test program on different system configurations,” said the firm.

The library includes more ac loads, dc loads, high power ac sources, scanners, measurement devices and instrument communication buses including I2C, SPI, RS232, TTL Serial, 1553, Mod Bus, and CAN.

Data logging option have also been expanded.

“While PowerStar 5 was limited to Microsoft Access or SQL data types, PowerStar 6 offers the addition of XML/ATML compatible files,” said Intepro. Results can be exported to Excel CSV files.

Report templates (test report, failure report, pass slip, fail slip or custom report) are in XSL and can include saved scope plots. They are definable at a global or individual program level.

The tool is compatible with Windows XP, 7 and 8 in both 32 and 64bit version, as well as the trial version of Windows 10.

No longer limited to a single system configuration file, an Integrated Configuration manager allows users to switch between system configurations without restarting PowerStar so users can check program compatibility across multiple systems.

There are three versions: Silver for for small tests; Gold is for medium sized systems, and Platinum for large test systems which includes Visual Studio.
