Commentary: Acer, Asustek dive into smartphones, wearable devices may not bear fruit

Acer and Asustek Computer have both stepped up efforts to promote sales of smartphones and wearable devices such as smartwatches and bracelets as a means to boost revenues for 2015. But it remains to be seen if these devices will help the vendors make up the earnings shortfall caused by sluggish PC sales.
