TV panel prices have remained steady in early January 2015 as demand from the global top tier TV brands is still strong, according to DisplaySearch. In particular, Samsung Electronics and some leading China TV vendors, which are reportedly seeing fair demand from emerging markets, are still ordering panels to meet their first-quarter 2015 forecasts. Currently, panel makers intend to keep increasing prices for sizes 32-, 40- and 48-inch, especially for some low-price points. They will increase them to typical levels that reflect supply constraint issues. Tier-one brands' aggressive panel sourcing and retail TV price offers are making it increasingly difficult for other TV makers to remain competitive, the firm said.
