China market: China vendors to beef up competition for CNY2,000-3,000 segment, say sources

China-based smartphone vendors, including Xiaomi Technology, Lenovo, ZTE and Coolpad, all plan to strengthen their presence in the CNY2,000-3,000 (US$320-478) smartphone segment in China in 2015, a move which will trigger fierce competition in the high-end sector, according to sources at Taiwan's handset supply chain.
