UMC looks to 1-5% wafer shipment growth in 3Q14

United Microelectronics Corporation (UMC) expects its wafer shipments to grow within a range of 5% sequentially in the third quarter of 2014 as its capacity utilization rate has reached a relatively high level, according to company CEO Po-wen Yen.
