Vendors seeking alternate solutions for metal notebook chassis

Notebook brand vendors such as Dell and Hewlett-Packard (HP) have recently been inquiring about carbon-fiber-reinforced plastic and magnesium-lithium alloy chassis for their new metal chassis notebooks, and vendors that have inquired about carbon-fiber-reinforced plastic chassis, are looking to save costs as the products are cheaper than standard unibody aluminum chassis, while magnesium-lithium alloy is able to reduce the weight of end products, according to sources from the upstream supply chain.
