Smart electricity meters to total 780 million in 2020, driven by China roll-out, says firm

Mass roll-outs in China continue to push the global smart meter market, which had nearly 210 million units installed as of 2014. The Asia-Pacific region will account for almost 65% of the global installed base in 2020, when the worldwide installed base will reach 780 million, according to ABI Research.
