Motorola Solutions on the block

Motorola Solutions, the other part of the old Motorola to Motorola Mobility – the phone business – is looking for a buyer, it is reported.

Reported possibilities are private equity, Raytheon, Honeywell and General Dynamics.

Motorola has had a chequered ride since being split into Motorola Solutions and Motorola Mobility in 2010.

Motorola Mobility was sold first to Google and then to Lenovo.

Last year a chunk of Motorola Solutions was sold off to Zebra Technologies.

The remains of Motorola Solutions, still with a market cap of over $15bn, makes communications systems for public authorities.
