Solartech mulls shift of solar cell capacity abroad in response to US anti-dumping taxation

The US Department of Commerce has decided to impose heavy preliminary anti-dumping tariff rates on crystalline silicon solar cells and PV modules imported from Taiwan. Taiwan-based solar cell maker Solartech Energy, to cope with the impact, has considered shifting a portion of its production capacity from Taiwan to the US or Malaysia, according to the company.
