Taiwan-based panel makers originally expected demand for in-house-produced On-Cell touch panels to take off in the first half of 2014 but actually fell short of expectations. Hopes now are that demand will emerge in the second half as international and China-based vendors will launch 4G smartphones in the China market, according to Taiwan-based supply chain makers.
