Renesas May Sell LCD Chip Unit to Synaptics

The Japanese semiconductor maker Renesas Electronics reportedly plans to sell its majority stake in Renesas SP Drivers, its LCD chip joint venture with Sharp and Powerchip Group, to the mobile device chip provider Synaptics.
