Epistar hikes prices for large-size LED chips due to higher DLC standards

LED epitaxial wafer and chip maker Epistar, in response to higher LED lighting standards specified in DLC (DesignLights Consortium) 4.0, has increased quotes for large-size LED chips specifically used to make LED lighting for sale in the US market by 30-40%, according to Taiwan-based LED packaging service providers.
