Digitimes Research: IBM, Cisco, ARM adopt other IoT protocols instead of LTE-MTC

Since LTE-MTC (machine type communications) standards in 3GPP (3rd Generation Partnership Project) R12 ( release 12) do not completely meet demands for IoT (the Internet of Things) applications, IBM and Cisco Systems have adopted LoRaWAN (long range wide area network) protocols developed by LoRa Alliance while ARM has chosen Weightless standards specified by Weightless SIG (special interest group) in their efforts to boost public IoT applications, according to Digitimes Research.
