India government to procure estimated 770 million LED light bulbs by end of 2018

The India government has decided to replace incandescent light bulbs with LED bulbs by the end of 2018 and therefore has begun procurement for subsidized sales in the country. Total demand is estimated at 770 million bulbs, according to industry sources.
