Total worldwide enterprise storage systems factory revenues grew 2.8% on year to US$9.1 billion during the third quarter of 2015, according to the IDC Worldwide Quarterly Disk Storage Systems Tracker. Total capacity shipments were up 31.5% on year to 33.1 exabytes during the quarter. Revenue growth was strongest within the group of original design manufacturers (ODMs) that sell directly to hyperscale datacenters. This portion of the market was up 23.4% on year to US$1.3 billion. Sales of server-based storage were up 9.9% during the quarter and accounted for US$2.1 billion in revenues.
