Taiwan market: Fitel PHS coverage shrinking

First International Telecom (Fitel), the only low-power PHS mobile operator in Taiwan, and a WiMAX operator in northern Taiwan, has been frustrated in the process of turning around its operations and has dismantled several PHS stations to decrease operating costs, resulting in a substantial reduction in overall PHS service coverage, according to industry sources.
