ECS sees dramatic profit growth in 2013

Elitegroup Computer Systems (ECS) has announced consolidated revenues of NT$63.44 billion (US$2.12 billion) for 2013, down 5% on year, but its net profits grew 910% on year to reach NT$3.62 billion, with an EPS of NT$3.44, up significantly from NT$0.3 in 2012. ECS will distribute dividends of NT$3 per share in cash.

Taiwan May unemployment rate hits 72-month low, says DGBAS

Taiwan had 443,000 jobless citizens in May 2014, equivalent to an unemployment rate of 3.85% which was the lowest monthly level since June 2008 and dropped by 0.06 percentage point on month and by 0.21 percentage point on year, according to statistics released by the Directorate-General of Budget, Accounting and Statistics (DGBAS) on June 23.
